Even though they were missing Christian McCaffrey and Jordan Mason, the 49ers running game didn’t miss a beat with rookie Isaac Guerendo in the backfield.

The rookie runner impressed with a spirited 78 yards rushing on 15 carries. Guerendo also showed off his skills as a receiver, catching two passes for 50 yards, including a tough catch downfield on a high arc pass from Purdy. The fourth-round pick from Louisville threw for two touchdowns in the first start of his career.

Despite his exceptional performance, Guerendo’s day ended on a sour note. Before the match ended, Guerendo left the match with a foot injury.
