When your trash will be collected in the Pays Noir during the holiday period

Councils across the region have announced changes to their usual bin collection times over the festive period.

Here’s everything you need to know about when your trash will be picked up:

Dudley

Dudley Council has warned of changes to waste and recycling collections over the Christmas and New Year period.

The local authority said some scheduled collections would be brought forward or moved back, with people urged to check their dates via the ‘MyDudley’ online portal or on the council’s website.

Date changes in Dudley are listed below:

  • Collection planned: December 23 – revised date: December 21

  • Collection planned: December 24 – revised date: December 23

  • Collection planned: December 25 – revised date: December 24

  • Collection planned: December 26 – revised date: December 27

  • Collection planned: December 27 – revised date: December 28

  • Scheduled collection: January 1 – revised date: January 2

  • Collection planned: January 2 – revised date: January 3

  • Collection planned: January 3 – revised date: January 4

No changes will be made to bin collections which must take place on December 30 or December 31.

Dudley Council has advised residents to put their black wheelie bins, black boxes and blue and green recycling bags out as normal on the relevant collection dates, from 6am.

The Stourbridge Household Waste Recycling Center booking system will open as normal, with the exception of Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, when it will close.

Walsall

Walsall Council said bin collections would continue to take place every two weeks throughout the Christmas and New Year period.

However, he indicated that no waste would be collected on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

The modified dates are below:

  • Collection planned: December 25 – revised date: December 21. The next regular collection date will be January 8 where one additional bag will be accepted from these households.

  • Collection date: December 26 – revised date: December 28. An additional trash bag will be accepted on this date. The next regular collection will take place on January 9.

  • Collection planned: January 1 – revised date: January 4. An additional bag will be accepted on this date. The usual collection will resume for these households on January 15.

Bin collection dates have been announced for the holiday period in the Black Country

Sandwell

Sandwell Council has advised that bin collections will take place one or two days later for some households over the festive period.

The date changes are as follows:

  • Collection planned: December 25 – revised date: December 27

  • Collection planned: December 26 – revised date: December 28

  • Collection planned: December 27 – revised date: December 29

  • Collection planned: January 1 – revised date: January 2

  • Collection planned: January 2 – revised date: January 3

  • Collection planned: January 3 – revised date: January 4

There will be no change to the usual bin collection dates in Sandwell between the Christmas and New Year period, December 30 and 31. All collections will resume on their usual days from January 6.

Wolverhampton

Wolverhampton Council has said no bin collections will be carried out on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

The collections scheduled for December 25 will instead take place on December 23 and 24.

Bins scheduled for collection on December 26 will instead be collected on December 27.

Local authorities have said there will be no change to collections on January 1, with residents asked to hand in their bins as usual.
