Jay-Z accused of raping 13-year-old girl with Sean “Diddy” Combs in 2000

Hip hop artist and business mogul Jay-Z has been named as a defendant in a federal lawsuit that alleges that he, along with hip hop impresario Sean “Diddy” Combs, drugged and raped a 13-year-old girl in 2000 .

The lawsuit was initially filed by anonymous plaintiff “Jane Doe” in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York in October. It named Combs as a defendant, along with several of his companies, including Bad Boy Entertainment and Bad Boy Records. Yesterday, the trial was amended to add Jay-Z, a co-defendant, whose real name is Shawn Carter.

The lawsuit alleges that in 2000, the plaintiff went to the MTV Video Music Awards in New York without a ticket, hoping to get in. There, a limo driver who claimed to work for Combs invited her to an afterparty. He drove her to the party, where she alleges she was made to sign a document she believed was a nondisclosure agreement. She further alleges that after drinking a portion of a drink offered to her by one of the waitresses at the party, she began to feel dizzy and dizzy and found a room with a bed so she could sleep. ‘lie down.

The lawsuit alleges that Carter, Combs and an unidentified female celebrity, whom the plaintiff recognized, then entered the room, and Carter held her down and raped her while Combs and the woman watched. Then Combs raped her in front of Carter and the woman. The lawsuit further alleges that Combs then tried to force her to perform oral sex on him, but she punched him, grabbed his clothes and fled, fleeing to a gas station outside where she used the phone to call his father.

The lawsuit alleges a violation of New York City’s Gender-Based Violence Victims Protection Act (GGMVPA). The VGMVPA provides a private cause of action to any person who has been injured by another in a crime of gender-motivated violence. The VGMVPA temporarily suspends the statute of limitations for acts alleged to violate this law, even if the alleged acts took place decades ago and were previously statute-barred. The VGMVPA allows individuals to recover economic damages, damages for emotional distress, punitive damages, and attorneys’ fees and expenses.

The lawsuit is one of several filed against Combs by Houston attorney Tony Buzbee on behalf of more than a hundred plaintiffs. Buzbee has already made a name for himself by representing twenty-two women who filed suit against Houston Texans quarterback DeSean Watson in 2021 for allegations of sexual harassment and sexual assault. All claims were ultimately resolved amicably.

Carter responded to the lawsuit in a statement, writing that “My attorney received an attempted blackmail, called a demand letter, from an ‘attorney’ named Tony Buzbee. What he had calculated was the nature of these allegations and the public scrutiny would make me want to settle. No sir, it had the opposite effect! This made me want to call you out for the fraud that you are in a VERY public way. So no, I won’t give you A RED PENNY!!

Buzbee was sued in November by an anonymous male celebrity who alleges Buzbee attempted to extort payments by threatening to file sexual assault charges against him, which the celebrity denies. Buzbee denies all extortion allegations. Buzbee and the media claimed that the anonymous celebrity was Jay-Z himself.

In an article on alleged victim and that this victim never asked him for a cent. . Instead, she only requested confidential mediation. Since I sent the letter on his behalf, Mr. Carter has not only sued me, but has also attempted to intimidate and harass me and this complainant. His conduct had the opposite impact. She is emboldened. I am very proud of his determination.

Buzbee also claimed in an Instagram post that there had been a concerted campaign to intimidate him, including “filing frivolous complaints against me and my law firm, smearing me with outrageous claims to anyone who willing to listen to him, and by having mysterious people follow me and my family. »
