Mumbai’s water supply disrupted: Bandra, Khar face disruption after major pipeline ruptures – Inside Details – India News

Several areas of Bandra and Khar faced water disruption on Tuesday due to the rupture of a major pipeline on Swami Vivekananda Road near Lucky Junction, The Indian Express reported.

The BMC said the leak was reported around 2 am yesterday and repair work is underway.

A video widely shared on social media captured water gushing from one of the pipe’s inlets, causing parts of SV Road to be partially submerged. According to the BMC statement, the incident involved a 600 mm water main, one of the two main supply pipelines serving the Bandra region.

“Currently, repair works are underway and the water supply will remain closed in some areas until the repair works are completed. In some areas water is supplied, but at low pressure. Citizens are requested to use water sparingly,” an official said.

Former Congressman Asif Zakaria posted on X to talk about the burst pipe on SV Road.

“A major water main burst on SV Road at Lucky Junction, Bandra West. Emergency repair team at work. All water supplies to H/West districts (Khar, Bandra) have been stopped till damage assessment and repairs. Citizens are urged to take note and take necessary precautions,” he wrote.
