Four Hogs Receive All-SEC Recognition From Coaches


FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.– Led by two second-team selections, wide receiver Andrew Armstrong and defensive end Landon Jackson, four Razorbacks received All-SEC honors from the coaches, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.

Offensive lineman Fernando Carmona and linebacker Xavian Sorey Jr. earned third-team honors, joining Armstrong and Jackson as Hogs to receive all-league recognition.

Armstrong is the first Razorback receiver to earn All-SEC honors since Treylon Burks in 2021. The Dallas, Texas product recorded a team-high 78 receptions for 1,140 yards and a touchdown during the 2024 season Armstrong, who began his career at East Texas A&M (formerly known as Texas A&M-Commerce) led the league and ranked in the top. 10 nationally in receiving yards (7th), receiving yards per game. (103.6, 4th), and receptions per game (7.1, 9th). Armstrong ranked second all-time on Arkansas’ single-season receptions list and single-season receptions list while finishing the season with a 39-game receiving streak that ended is ranked first among all SEC pass catchers and sixth nationally. The Texarkana, Texas, product became the first Razorback to lead the team in tackles for loss and sacks in consecutive seasons since Wayne Martin did so from 1986 to 1988. Carmona earned SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week honors twice during the regular season after wins over Arkansas-Pine Bluff (September 2) and No. 4 Tennessee (October 7). The Las Vegas native blocked for 673 total yards of offense (314 passing, 359 rushing) without allowing a single sack, during the Razorbacks’ dominant 58-25 win over Mississippi State (Oct. 26) and was part of a line offense that helped rack up 687 yards in a win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff (Aug. 29) and 648 total yards of offense at Oklahoma State (Sept. 7). Carmona is the first Razorback offensive tackle to earn All-SEC recognition from league coaches since Dan Skipper in 2016.

Sorey Jr. led the Razorbacks with 89 total tackles in addition to posting nine tackles for loss, three quarterback hurries, two sacks, one interception and one pass breakup. The Georgia transfer led or tied for the single-game team record in tackles in four games in 2024 (Oklahoma State, Tennessee, Mississippi State, Ole Miss), while his 13-tackle performances against Oklahoma State and Ole Miss were the highest. a pig in just one game this season.
