She’s going crazy about royal life! Christina loves spending a day at Balmoral

She has long been considered television royalty thanks to her involvement in hugely popular shows, such as the American drama series Mad Men.

And it seems Christina Hendricks has developed a keen interest in the British monarchy – enjoying the delights of the late Queen’s Scottish home, Balmoral.

The 49-year-old actress has been filming in Scotland for months for her role in Apple TV period drama The Buccaneers.

However, on a well-deserved day off, she posted a photo outside the royal residence after enjoying a visit there.

Alongside the image, she wrote: “There is magic in the air. »

The photo shows a smiling Ms Hendricks posing outside the royal household wearing a baseball cap and large sunglasses – perhaps in an attempt to remain inconspicuous.

It seems the actress can’t get enough of the place, having already visited it on a previous trip to Scotland.

Hendricks’ visit comes after Balmoral opened to the public over the summer for the first time in more than 170 years.

The 49-year-old Hollywood actress has been filming in Scotland for months for her role in Apple TV period drama The Buccaneers.

People were able to take guided tours of several rooms at Aberdeenshire Castle, such as the Entrance Hall, Red Corridor, Main and Family Dining Rooms, Page Hall, Library and Drawing Room.

Tickets for the guided tours – priced at £100 or £150 with afternoon tea – sold out within 24 hours of going on sale, with 40 people per day allowed to visit from July 1 to August 4.

This month people enjoyed more lavish deals at the castle with £250 tickets for a guided tour followed by a seven-course meal, accompanied by wine.

Normal adult entry to Balmoral is £17.50, but this excludes the interior tour.

However, its park is open to the public free of charge this winter.

It costs around £3 million a year to run Balmoral, half of which comes from tourism-related income.

The King and Queen Camilla usually stay at Birkhall Estate, their favorite home, where they have honeymooned and celebrated almost all of their wedding anniversaries.

Hendricks’ latest project – The Buccaneers – follows a group of young American women in the 1870s as they are sent to London to find husbands and titles, and hilarious cultural clashes ensue.

Scenes were filmed at the Mitchell Library in Glasgow, which also serves as a courthouse in the United States.

Horses and carriages, along with historic street signs and mailboxes, have all been installed to transform the town street into a 19th-century American scene. Extras were also seen wearing clothing from the late 1800s.

Culzean Castle in Ayrshire, Hopetoun House near South Queensferry and Drumlanrig Castle in Dumfriesshire also featured in the period drama.

Ms Hendricks, who plays Mrs Patricia St George in the drama series, is no stranger to high-profile TV appearances.

Her most famous role saw her play Joan Harris in the American series Mad Men alongside Jon Hamm.
